This is Hilton Head Island. I have not photographed too many sunrises on the beach here. I found the beach and Coligny Beach Park area extremely clean and easy to access. My day begins with a nice sunrise. Coligny Beach Park is an oceanside park with landscaped walking & biking paths, plus WiFi, swings & beach equipment rentals.

My wife and I really enjoy beginning our day on the beach. There is something about the water, the sounds, the smells of ocean life that draw us to the edge of the ocean. I like to get up extremely early and hit the beach just as the light is beginning to increase. Low tide is our favorite, the beach is cleaned of trash, what's left is a treasure of finds sometimes.

Growing up as a Navy kid, I bounced around the East Coast before settling in Aiken, South Carolina in 1966. The warm climate was a big draw for my family. Speaking of family, I am the oldest of five and have been happily married for 44 years. My two daughters are both educated, married, and they are always there to lend a hand. I am also a proud grandparent of three little ones who keep me busy and happy. After working at the Savannah River Site for 37.5 years, I am now retired and enjoying my hobbies. I love working on home projects, exploring the backroads of South Carolina, camping, and taking photos of the great outdoors.
