Sunrise on Breach Inlet near Charleston South Carolina. This was low tide, a good time for pictures. If you look closely, there are seagulls at the water's edge. The Breach Inlet separates Isle of Palms from Sullivan’s Island. A bridge crosses the body of water to connect the islands. The inlet is very deep and has a dangerously strong current, causing there to be signs advising against swimming in the area. While it is a great spot for fishing, photography, and porpoise sightings, caution is advised as the beaches can be unstable at times as well. The Isle of Palms is a popular vacation destination due to its beaches, resorts, and restaurants.
Growing up as a Navy kid, I bounced around the East Coast before settling in Aiken, South Carolina in 1966. The warm climate was a big draw for my family. Speaking of family, I am the oldest of five and have been happily married for 44 years. My two daughters are both educated, married, and they are always there to lend a hand. I am also a proud grandparent of three little ones who keep me busy and happy. After working at the Savannah River Site for 37.5 years, I am now retired and enjoying my hobbies. I love working on home projects, exploring the backroads of South Carolina, camping, and taking photos of the great outdoors.
