I had the pleasure of visiting the Equine Rescue in Aiken, South Carolina and let me tell you, it was an absolute treat! Our guide took us around the property and shared fascinating details about the horses living there. The scenery was breathtaking - the rolling hills surrounding the property were simply stunning.

I was introduced to two very special horses - Hollywood and Buddy. Hollywood stood on the left and Buddy on the right. What makes their story so incredible is that Buddy is blind, but Hollywood never leaves his side. They have formed an unbreakable bond that is truly heartwarming.

I was blown away by the dedication and hard work of the staff at the Equine Rescue. It's clear that they have a deep love and respect for these majestic animals. It was an unforgettable experience and I left feeling inspired by the incredible work being done at this rescue.

Growing up as a Navy kid, I bounced around the East Coast before settling in Aiken, South Carolina in 1966. The warm climate was a big draw for my family. Speaking of family, I am the oldest of five and have been happily married for 44 years. My two daughters are both educated, married, and they are always there to lend a hand. I am also a proud grandparent of three little ones who keep me busy and happy. After working at the Savannah River Site for 37.5 years, I am now retired and enjoying my hobbies. I love working on home projects, exploring the backroads of South Carolina, camping, and taking photos of the great outdoors.
