Another beautiful evening on Lake Thurmond in South Carolina. This image was captured near the Clarks Hill (Thurmond Lake) Dam. As a kid, I skied this lake so many times. Last evening was a chance to relive some old memories. Sunsets are spectacular on Lake Thurmond, formally Clarks Hill Lake.

A memory rekindled. Years ago while camping up at the lake and sitting near the water's edge, it was not hard to hear conversations, and boats traveling off in the distance. Sound carried well on the lake and you know what's the best thing? It still does.

Lake Thurmond Lake and Dam borders two states, South Carolina and Georgia on Highway 221.

Growing up as a Navy kid, I bounced around the East Coast before settling in Aiken, South Carolina in 1966. The warm climate was a big draw for my family. Speaking of family, I am the oldest of five and have been happily married for 44 years. My two daughters are both educated, married, and they are always there to lend a hand. I am also a proud grandparent of three little ones who keep me busy and happy. After working at the Savannah River Site for 37.5 years, I am now retired and enjoying my hobbies. I love working on home projects, exploring the backroads of South Carolina, camping, and taking photos of the great outdoors.
