Painted, matted look.

This is the Surfside Pier in Surfside Beach South Carolina. This image was taken the morning of September 28, 2016, Hurricane Matthew hit South Carolina in October 2016. The pier has been closed to fishing since then. My wife and I continued to enjoy breakfast and dinner at the Surf Diner at the pier entrance for many years after the pier closed to fishing, The Surf Diner is now closed. Construction of the new pier is underway. It is so sad to see these wooden piers disappear. A new concrete pier will take its place.

Farewell old friend, you have been in my viewfinder for many years, you will not be forgotten. This image was taken very early morning, the sun had not risen yet. I did enhance the sky using Photoshop and gave the image a painted look using Exposure Snap Art 4.

Growing up as a Navy kid, I bounced around the East Coast before settling in Aiken, South Carolina in 1966. The warm climate was a big draw for my family. Speaking of family, I am the oldest of five and have been happily married for 44 years. My two daughters are both educated, married, and they are always there to lend a hand. I am also a proud grandparent of three little ones who keep me busy and happy. After working at the Savannah River Site for 37.5 years, I am now retired and enjoying my hobbies. I love working on home projects, exploring the backroads of South Carolina, camping, and taking photos of the great outdoors.
