Artist's Description
I would like to express my gratitude to the talented photographers who alerted me to the presence of a little flamingo at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina. This adorable creature appears to be only a few weeks old, and I was thrilled to catch a glimpse of it this morning. At first, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary, but after a few moments, I spotted the little one nestled safely under its mother's wing. Although it eventually emerged, it never strayed far from its mother's side. I am delighted to welcome this precious new addition to our world.
About Steve Rich
Growing up as a Navy kid, I bounced around the East Coast before settling in Aiken, South Carolina in 1966. The warm climate was a big draw for my family. Speaking of family, I am the oldest of five and have been happily married for 44 years. My two daughters are both educated, married, and they are always there to lend a hand. I am also a proud grandparent of three little ones who keep me busy and happy. After working at the Savannah River Site for 37.5 years, I am now retired and enjoying my hobbies. I love working on home projects, exploring the backroads of South Carolina, camping, and taking photos of the great outdoors.
