Step right up and behold the magnificent wooden wonder that is the Surfside Pier in Surfside Beach, South Carolina! Feast your eyes on this captivating photograph, taken on the morning of September 28, 2016, just before Hurricane Matthew decided to crash the party in October of the same year. Sadly, this windy intruder left the pier in ruins, rendering it inaccessible and eventually leading to its dismantling. But fear not, my friends, for even this setback couldn't keep my wife and me from indulging in scrumptious breakfasts and dinners at the Surf Diner, conveniently located at the entrance of the pier, for many glorious years.
Alas, the Surf Diner had to bid us adieu to make way for new construction. But fear not, for we eagerly await the grand unveiling of the brand spanking new pier, already under construction and ready to welcome the masses. Oh, the anticipation is palpable!
And let me tell you, my fellow enthusiasts of fine photography, I have taken the liberty of enhancing this image with a teal effect using the magical powers of Lightroom. Prepare to be dazzled!
So come one, come all, and witness the beauty of the Surfside Pier frozen in time, a testament to resilience and the indomitable spirit of this coastal paradise. Let us bask in the glory of what once was, and eagerly await what is yet to come.
